Hello Bellah Blog readers!

The Bellah Blog is back up and running (about time!), and is ready to bring you latest news, trends, and looks in fashion in the year 2020!

2020 has already been a rough year due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has struck when no one was prepared or expecting it. Many events around the world have been cancelled, from concerts to fashion shows to even schools. No one has been spared from this.

Even though some shows have been postponed till further notice, one specific designers has decided to help the cause by contributing to the stash of medical supplies so in demand.

Famous designer Christian Siriano (aka my personal fav modern designer of all times) and some other designers have decided to make 1,000 masks for hospital personal and medical professionals. Christian Siriano and his team have reached out to many other designers to pitch in to help the medical professionals by also pitching to make masks. His team is working hard in order to make 1,000 masks for the New York City hospitals in the next couple of days.

“I really think that if anybody still has team members who are sewing or who can sew, especially in New York, we could make a few hundred a day. There are only so many people who work in a hospital. Fashion could really change everything in a week. Look, we have nothing else to do right now. Nobody is buying clothes so what can we do? I hope that everybody can pitch in.” – Christian Siriano

Christian Siriano’s team is able to make around 100 masks per day. Claiming that the masks are not hard to make. They even have decided to use a washable fabric that could be used for a few days, instead of having to throw the masks away everyday. Though these masks are not medical-grade masks, they are still a huge hekp to the dwindling stocks of masks.

Siriano wants to further help by making aprons, but is waiting on the legal requirements for medical staff and clearance in order to begin production. “Project Runway” Brand Maxwell is also looking into helping make PPE gowns to help the medical personal on the front lines of this pandemic., while designer Nicole Miller is also mobilizing to help make gown s and masks.

These fashion designers, their teams, and all those reaching out to help resupply masks and gowns, as well as those helping fight the COVID-19 pandemic, all deserve the public’s recognition.
