Matching Apparel for Pets and Their Humans

Humans and their pets do have some weird tendencies when it comes to matching or wearing similar apparel. I do no it, I’m pretty sure my neighbor down the street does it, and probably many of the readers at home tend to dress up their animal companion for fun or because their animal likes it. (My dog personally hates being put into outfits…I know cuz I do it to him anyways and he tears them up.) But there are some companies out there that make a living off human and pets matching accessories. There are a few that I actually agree with and don’t mind purchasing for my animal and myself.

Friendship Collar

Friendship Collars are collars for pets and bracelet collars for their human counter parts. There are many companies that are similar to this like the buddy bracelet.

Dog Threads

This is a company that has matching cloths for owners and their dogs. The also have cloths specifically for pets that do not have matching counterparts.

These are just a few of the sites and companies that are out there to match pets and humans through accessories and other kinds of apparel that can be worn or just carry around. Either way, these companies have my vote because I know I love forcing my dog into cloths, and now we can match (LOL not really because he will just destroy it). Now pet lovers and their loved ones can be stylish and all matchy matchy at the same time! This way you can never truly lose your pet in a crowd!

Which one do you prefer?

Heidi Klum has mad many guest appearances on many shows. But there are two in particular that we recognize alongside her image today; Project Runway and America’s Got Talent.

For Project Runway, Heidi host the show and judges. Whereas in America’s Got Talent she is just a judge (and now Tyra Banks hosts).

What I want to know is which show you prefer?

Another Bestseller for Models to Read

Heidi Klum has made many contributions to the fashion industry, including branching into the book industry in 2004. Like any other public figure in the eyes of society, Heidi created a book that has all the advice she learned in order to make it as big as she did. I highly encourage anyone in the fashion industry to go ahead and read this novel in order to fully grasp the hardship that someone has to go through in order to make it big in a world that gives seldom compliments or second chances.

Included down below is a description of the book. Safe readings fellow bellah’s.

Heidi Klum is one of the most famous supermodels in the world, but it took a lot more than above-average looks to get there. Growing up in a small town in Germany certainly didn’t prepare her for superstardom. After winning a national modeling contest she had entered on a lark, Heidi spent the next two years trying to catch a break in a business dominated by skinny waifs and big egos. Ignoring the skeptics and naysayers, at nineteen, she hopped a plane to the United States, where she tirelessly (and always optimistically) posed, strutted, networked, and laughed her way to the top.
Heidi learned a lot on the road to becoming a cultural icon—and fortunately she took notes along the way. In this funny, dishy, and highly practical book, she shares the secrets behind her success and shows how anyone can achieve their goals in work, love, and life:

• Pursue success long after any sane person would have given up
• Persuade others you have the chops to do whatever it is you’re going for
• Make people see you as you want to be seen
• Find your own unique style
• Create a strong, healthy body
• Tap into your seductive side
• Broaden your horizons by traveling the world
• Have a blast while it lasts

This informative romp is full of gorgeous photos from the top professional photographers in the fashion industry, personal pictures from Heidi’s own scrapbooks, behind-the-scenes stories about the modeling world, and helpful hints for achieving success. With her refreshing candor and effervescent style, Heidi offers dead-on advice that will resonate with anyone who has ever wanted more out of life.

Heidi Advice

heidi-klum-online-advices

We are once again going to kick off this week with advice from our fashion Icon of the week. Heidi Klum has been in the fashion industry for a long time, and her advice is not only credible but valuable.

  • “Hard work is key. Ability is key. A degree of luck is key. But desire is the ultimate motivator. It makes you work like crazy and not give up too fast or too easily.”
  • “For me the most important thing was always that you have something in mind that you want to do, that you enjoy doing, because a lot of people have a job, but they’re not happy. I think you have to think about what it is you really want to do in life and pursue that, and do it with fun; have a smile on your face, because then you’re happy.”
  • “What does ‘selling it’ mean? I think it means playing at the person I want people to believe I am. Does that sound dishonest? I don’t think it is. In fact, it’s actually one of the hallmarks of successful people.”
  • “I jumped into the water with 45 sharks without a cage in the Bahamas for a Discovery Channel show. That was a really good experience. I’m not saying that everyone should swim with the sharks, but sometimes you have to jump over your own shadow in order to learn something that you will never forget for the rest of your life. Then you know you can conquer your fears.”
  • “You have to be super fit because you have to look good all the way around. You have to be firm and tight. You might have been the most beautiful girl in your hometown and now you are a beautiful fish in a big pond of a lot of beautiful girls, and in order to get the greatest jobs, you have to look amazing. You have to exercise and eat right so your nails are beautiful, your skin is beautiful, your hair is beautiful. Otherwise you will get mediocre jobs. If you want to get great ones, wear lingerie, or swimsuit jobs, your body has to look accordingly – the way the clients want it.”
  • “It’s not about looks necessarily, always, it’s also about having the package so you can sell products. The world of modelling has shifted so much since I started 20 years ago. You didn’t have to do TV shows, no one asked your opinion, or what hairbrush you use. Now, if you want to be a successful model, you have to be more versatile.”
  • “You get lucky along the way. You either meet the right people or you don’t. I feel like I got lucky and I met the right people and I showed up when I was supposed to, and stayed longer than most would. I think when you do a bit of extra work, that helps. A lot of the girls would look at the clock and go ‘I want to go home’, ‘can this be the last shot?’ or whatever, and then people don’t want to book you again.”

It’s important for those of use starting out in the industry to take advice from those who have not only endured all the hardships that we will eventually face, but to also understand that even though they are now famous that they too had to face the same challenges in their own career. You know what they say, learn from your own mistakes but also take the initiative to learn from others mistakes and take advice willingly.

The Tyra Banks Success Story

Tyra Banks is a African-American Public figure that many girls in the model and fashion industry look up to. Who could blame them? She is a powerful, successful, and confident woman who has a huge control over a desirable industry for women of all ages and sizes. Though in today’s society we all see her a role model, she too had her concerns and grievances before she became the women that the world know sees her as.
Tyra Banks was born on December 4th, 1973 in Los Angeles, California. She was a tall, skinny, awkward young girl who was mercilessly teased by kids her age, and even her own brother. She decided to reshape her image and body into one that sought after in the modeling world. But her struggles didn’t miraculously disappear with becoming a model. If anything, they became more frequent and difficult as her journey continued.
When entering the modeling industry, it is normal to seek out multiple agencies because one will not accept you. Tyra was turned down by four agencies before she was accepted by Elite agency at the ripe age of 17. Her first move after signing with them was to move to Paris to refine her career for a year.

While in Paris, she worked with many famous brands and labels like CHANEL and Ralph Lauren. When she returned to the US, she established a contract with the famous makeup brand Cover Girl in 1993. She was also the first African-American model to work with said company. Not only did she accomplish this, but she also began to work with American labels like Nike, Pepsi, and Swatch.
In in 1996, Tyra was the first black model to appear on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions cover. After this, she made more shocking appearances on multiple magazine covers and was even included in Victoria Secret’s catalogue. She achieved the Michael Award as the Supermodel of the Year in 1997. Tyra then moved on to the acting industry where she received roles in “The Fresh Prince of Belair”, “Coyote Ugly”, “Inferno”, and many more. She then moved on to create her own TV Production called “Bankable Productions” in 2003 who then made the show “America’s Next Top Model”. She became its host and judge, and a few years after this success became host of a talk show, and went on to host many other shows.
While working in all the different industries mentioned above, she also became a writer and has written multiple books (one mentioned earlier in the blog this week). Through all of this, she had many struggles and had to learn to come to terms with the way her body was natural created. She could eat and never gain any weight, and at times she was considered undesirable by many labels because of her naturally given assets. Though she had to go through all these trials. She is now an amazing public figure in the modeling world, and my personal role model in the fashion industry.
